Project Context:
This project focused on the exploration of form and surface through the design and making of a ceramic necklace using slip casting techniques. The brief encouraged investigation into organic form, material qualities, and how ceramic objects function as wearable jewellery. Through research, drawing, and making, the project explored how natural forms can be translated into ceramic components suitable for the body.

My Theme & Final Outcome:
My work was inspired by the natural forms of pebbles. I then explored the softness, irregularity, and smooth surfaces of the different kinds of pebbles found on the sea shore and finally i tried translating these qualities into ceramic form. Using ceramic slip casting, I developed a series of pebble-like elements that vary slightly in size and shape. These were assembled into a necklace that emphasises tactility, comfort, and organic form. My finished pieces are titled Ceramic Pebble Necklaces, reflecting an interest in natural form and surface translated into wearable ceramic jewellery.
