2D CAD Images

Project Context:
This project focused on developing technical drawing skills using 2D CAD software. The brief introduced digital drawing as a tool for communicating design ideas accurately, producing scaled drawings, plans, and technical details relevant to jewellery and object design.

My Theme & Final Outcome:
I explored the hexagon as a recurring geometric form, inspired by how frequently it appears in nature such as honeycombs, crystal structures, and cellular patterns. Beginning with hand sketches, I investigated how repeated hexagonal units could grow, connect, and adapt into wearable forms. These designs were then refined digitally, resulting in a series of CAD drawings that informed paper models and ultimately a copper ring that was made by CAD.The final piece reflects an interest in natural geometry, modular construction, and the transition from digital design to physical object.
