Project Context:
This project introduced 3D CAD and CAM processes, combining digital design with physical making. Using Fusion 360, designs were developed digitally and realised through 3D printing and lost-wax casting. The brief focused on pendants, encouraging consideration of scale, suspension, and how objects sit on the body.
My Theme & Final Outcome:
My project was inspired by the natural forms of branches and twigs, which I found visually interesting due to their irregular structures and textured surfaces. I developed initial sketches into wearable pendant designs using 3D CAD software, (Fusion 360) refining scale, form, and attachment points. From these digital models, I produced pieces using different CAM techniques like the 3D printing machine. Then i used the lost wax casting technique for the metal twig pendants .The final pieces demonstrate how organic forms can be translated through digital design into varied material outcomes.
